It has always struck me that there are lots of computer games aimed at boys but not so many for girls. I suppose some girls play the boyish games but no boys would play girly games and so I expect that goes partly to explaining it. I was really pleased recently when I noticed some free cooking games which I thought would be lovely for girls. Not that there is anything wrong with boys cooking and it is of course important for them to both learn to cook. But it is nice to see that there are cooking games that girls can enjoy and that will also teach them some useful skills. There are other great girls games as well such as fun waitress games and other things. It is a great way to keep girls entertained and happy and learning how to use a computer as well as some useful skills. Take a look and see whether you agree.

With so many people out of work at the moment, it can be hard knowing where the next pay cheque is coming from. I have decided that I am going to learn how to play poker and if I get made redundant I will have that to fall back on. there are lots of sites advertising the best poker bonuses and I am sure that I will be able to get a really good deal. I have read up on the poker rules and am learning some tactics so that I have a skill to fall back on should I need it. I think it is wise to have this sort of insurance policy in times like these and we should all be planning just in case we lose our jobs.

If you like playing games then you will love the selection of free games available on line. However, it can often be hard to find a quality site which has a great range of games that you do not have to pay for and that are also safe to download or play. You can spend a lot of time going from site to site looking for games which you want to play. Some people like to play on line where they can chat to other players and some prefer to download free games and play them off line on their machine. Whichever you prefer then it is a good idea to read a lot of reviews of games and games websites before you use them. It is not worth getting a virus on your computer just because you want to pay a good game or you might find that you waste time downloading or playing things which are not that good. So whether you like action, role play, adventure, word, fighting, shooting, card or dress up games then check out some games reviews before you play and then you know you will not only be safe but have lots of fun at the same time.

I am an avid listener to Radio One and have been hearing all about their tent at the Reading Festival. I think they are talking about it more lately as the tickets are going to go on sale in the spring and the hype is already building. There are quite a few different stages which cover several different music niches. I think this is great as it means that various bands will be there and that whatever type of music you like, you are bound to hear someone that you like. I think that ahving different areas with different genres is a great idea and I am sure that it works really well. I have decided that I really must go this year. All this talk about it on the radio has convinced me! I have therefore managed to secure some Seatwave tickets for myself and I can hardly believe that I am going! I think even when I have the Reading Tickets in my hand, I will still not really be able to believe that I am going at last! I think I will just have to keep reading all of the Reading Festival information that I can and it will start to sink in more!

I often wonder, when I see a New York limousine and especially a New York wedding limousine whether the choice of car is that important at a wedding. When my brother-in-law got married he had a lovely antique car to take him to the ceremony. Once he arrived everyone was already inside and so no one saw the car apart from him and his best man. He seems to rather regret that they didn’t just have a cheap taxi ride. After the ceremony everyone walked to the reception as it was on a boat that had been docked just a few minutes walk away, which was great fun - walking through a busy town centre in all of our wedding finery. I can see why he thought that the car was a waste of money especially as there were only a couple of photos taken with it in. I suppose the car can feature quite a lot in photos if it is a nice one and it can also provide a really fun ride for the bridal party. If the journey is long then it is probably more worthwhile trying to get a really comfortable car. It is really dependent on the budget and the journey I suppose as to whether you think they are something that you would like to have at your wedding. I had no cars at my wedding either. I got married in a hotel and stayed in it the night before the wedding and the night after and so we just drove up in our own car and left it in the car park. It certainly cut out a lot of stress as I did not have to worry about the groom being there on time or me for that matter (although, of course, I was slightly late)!

What is it with men and sunglasses? As soon as they put them on they seem to think they are the coolest thing on the planet! They swagger around and think they look amazing when really they do not look that different to normal. My friend has just bought his first ever pair of aviator sunglasses and he cannot be parted from them. He was at my house for a party last week and things went on after dark so he took the sunglasses off and accidently left them behind. I see him quite regularly but he did the 30 minute drive home and realised they were missing and came back for them then and there, rather than waiting until he next saw me. It gave me a good laugh that they were so precious he couldn’t do without them for a few days and he did an hours drive to get them back that night. He is also constantly polishing them. I know that lenses get finger marks, smudges and dirt on them but he has a little tin of spray and a cloth and is cleaning them all the time. I guess it makes them extra shiny or something! I think he might wear the lenses out with the amount of polishing they get at the moment! I guess the novelty will wear off after a while.Perhaps when the weather is less sunny he won’t wear them as much, but I have a feeling they may just sit up on his head anyway. I suppose it is not just mens sunglasses that they are like that with. Whenever a male friend of mine gets a new gadget he has to take it everywhere with him for a while - rather like a child with a new toy! I am sure women are not like that, perhaps I am just biased!

My mother has a hearing aid. She started to have hearing problems at quite a young age - probably when I was about the age that my children are now. I do worry that perhaps I might start to go the same way. At the moment I have really good hearing. My sight is not brilliant - I wear glasses but I often rely on my hearing to help me in difficult conditions such as when I am crossing roads in the rain and my glasses are too wet to see out of. I also like to be able to hear at night when I am in bed and not wearing my glasses so that I know if anyone is moving about in the house. I would feel really lost if I could not hear anything. I know that hearing aids can be quite good but my Mum still has trouble hearing in certain circumstances. If there is a lot of background noise she fins it hard to make out the conversation because her hearing aid increases the volume of all noise and she is not very good at filtering out the sounds that she wants to hear from distracting background noise, This is something that I am very good at, at the moment. I am also very good at closing my ears to the television and the sounds of the children playing when I am trying to concentrate on something else. I sometimes worry that I might start just closing my ears to everything and it could lead to me having hearing problems. My Mum reckons that she started to go deaf because she didn’t like hearing my sister and I arguing when we were little and I really hope that is not true and that I will not start to lose my sharp hearing.
